Deprecated. This page documents the v2 buyer API, which is closed to new API clients and switches off on 1 December 2026. Use V3 instead: see Move a v2 buyer REST integration to V3. The conversion endpoint, Log event, stays open.
DELETE /api/v2/buyer/advertisers/{advertiserId} Archives an advertiser (soft delete). The advertiser moves to ARCHIVED status; its campaigns and sub-resources are retained.

Response

Returns 204 No Content on success. There is no response body. Archived advertisers are excluded from List advertisers unless you pass status=ARCHIVED or status=ALL. Archiving does not hide the advertiser’s children: its campaigns, media buys, and creatives remain listable and readable. They are read-only, though — a campaign under an archived advertiser cannot be launched, paused, or resumed until the advertiser is restored. It also releases the advertiser’s name — uniqueness applies to active advertisers only — so a new advertiser may be created with the same name. Archiving a sandbox advertiser also releases its brand identity, so a new sandbox advertiser may be created for the same brand, countries, and currency. See Archive / restore for the full semantics, including the CONFLICT a later restore returns when the name or, for a sandbox advertiser, the brand identity is taken, and the VALIDATION_ERROR it returns when the advertiser’s brand would overlap an active advertiser’s countries.
